Termite Services – Terms & Conditions

At Bug Buster Gold Coast, we provide professional termite inspections, treatments, and management systems in accordance with relevant Australian Standards.

By booking or accepting our services, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

1. Termite Inspections

Scope of Inspection

Our termite inspections are carried out in accordance with AS 4349.3 (Timber Pest Inspections) and involve a visual, non-invasive assessment of accessible areas, including:

  • Internal areas
  • Roof void (where safely accessible)
  • Subfloor (where accessible)
  • External areas of the property

Important Limitations

  • Inspections are limited to accessible areas only.
  • We do not move furniture, remove wall linings, flooring, insulation, or stored items.
  • Termites may be present in concealed or inaccessible areas and may not be detected.

Report

A written report will be provided outlining:

  • Findings
  • Risk areas
  • Recommendations

This report reflects the condition of the property at the time of inspection only.

2. Termite Treatments

Nature of Service

Termite treatments are designed to manage and reduce termite activity, not guarantee permanent eradication.

Treatment methods may include:

  • Chemical applications
  • Foam or dust treatments
  • Localised control treatments

Key Conditions

  • Termite elimination may take time depending on colony size and environmental conditions.
  • Reinfestation is possible after treatment.
  • Ongoing inspections are strongly recommended.

Client Responsibilities

The client must:

  • Follow all recommendations provided
  • Avoid disturbing treated areas
  • Maintain the property to minimise termite risk (e.g., reducing moisture, avoiding timber-to-soil contact)

3. Termite Barrier Systems

Types of Systems

Bug Buster Gold Coast offers termite management systems including:

  • Chemical soil barriers
  • Baiting and monitoring systems

Chemical Barriers

  • Installed in accordance with AS 3660.1 (Termite Management) where applicable.
  • Effectiveness may be impacted by:
    • Soil disturbance
    • Landscaping or excavation
    • Plumbing or structural changes

Important:
Chemical barriers reduce the risk of termite entry but do not guarantee complete protection.

Baiting & Monitoring Systems

  • Requires ongoing inspections and maintenance to remain effective.
  • Designed to eliminate or control termite colonies over time.

Important:

  • Baiting systems do not prevent termites from entering a structure.
  • Success depends on termite activity and feeding behaviour.

4. Warranty / Service Period

Any warranty provided:

  • Applies only under specified conditions
  • Requires compliance with recommended inspection schedules

Warranty may be void if:

  • The property is altered (construction, landscaping, plumbing, etc.)
  • Follow-up inspections are not completed
  • Treated areas or systems are disturbed
  • Environmental conditions change

5. Exclusions

Unless otherwise stated, the following are excluded:

  • Inaccessible or obstructed areas
  • Structural or timber repairs
  • Existing termite damage
  • Hidden infestations not visible during inspection
  • Areas not available for inspection at the time of service

6. Ongoing Maintenance

  • Termite inspections are recommended at least every 12 months, or more frequently in high-risk environments.
  • Failure to carry out regular inspections increases risk and may void any applicable warranty.

7. Limitation of Liability

  • Liability is limited to the value of the service provided.
  • Bug Buster Gold Coast is not liable for:
    • Undetected termite activity due to access limitations
    • Damage occurring after the date of service
    • Indirect or consequential losses

8. Environmental Factors

Termite activity is influenced by factors beyond our control, including:

  • Weather conditions
  • Soil movement
  • Moisture levels
  • Surrounding vegetation and environment

9. Acceptance

By proceeding with any service, the client acknowledges and accepts these Terms & Conditions.
